Next Generation Science Standards

Similar to the national movement to align math and language arts standards with Common Core, educators across the country have developed common standards for science. These have just recently been established and states are beginning to adopt them.  However, it is anticipated most states will soon.

As with common core, the next Generation Science Standards will be fewer, but more in depth.  Educators are studying these now in an effort to design lessons incorporating these standards. Eventually, students across the country will be able to transfer schools without missing a step in their education.  You may access the standards online at  http://www.nextgenscience.org  or download the app at http://appshopper.com/education/next-generation-science-standards
